Review & Unboxing: Wood Elves / Wanderers WardancersWarheim: Tancerze Wojny

Due to bad luck, I wasn't able to participate in this year's Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament but that doesn't mean I stopped recruiting models for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad. Today I want to show you 3 new miniatures - the Wardancers of Loec. Before the destruction of the Old World, those were the models of Wardancer Lord (in the middle) and Wardancers Command Group (including the musician - drummer). In Age of Sigmar Wanderers army, they are still Wardancers and their leader is called the Bladesinger (in the middle). One won't be able to buy Wardancers in normal retail, so you need to "hunt" for them on internet auctions and usually they end up very expensive. Those Wardancers are made of metal and there are square base for them. You might think that those are quite old sculptures but the details are of a very good quality. Especially the Wardancer Lord makes a good impression and all of them have "scenic" poses and bases so I don't think there is a need for any kind of conversion. My rating: 5/6 More photos below.

W tym roku przez złośliwość losu nie udało mi się wziąć udziału w turnieju Warheim Fantasy Skirmish, ale to nie znaczy, że rezygnuję z uzupełniania mojej drużyny Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren. Dzisiaj przedstawiam Wam zatem kolejnych rekrutów - 3 Tancerzy Wojny Loeca (Wardancers). Przed destrukcją Starego Świata były to modele Lorda Tancerza Wojny (po środku) oraz Grupy Dowodzenia Tancerzy Wojny (w tym muzyk - bębniarz). W Age of Sigmar figurki są w armii Wędrowców (Wanderers) również Tancerzami Wojny, a dowodzi nimi Bladesinger (po środku).  Tancerzy Wojny nie dostaniemy już w zwkłej sprzedaży, więc trzeba na nie "polować" na portalach aukcyjnych, a ceny potrafią być naprawdę wysokie.  Tancerze Wojny są metalowi, z dołączonymi kwadratowymi podstawkami. Mimo że są to dość staromodne już rzeźby, detale figurek są wyraźne. Szczególnie Lord Tancerz Wojny wciąż robi naprawdę dobre wrażenie, a wszystkie figurki mają "sceniczne" pozy i podstawki przez co nie ma potrzeby dokonywanie jakichkolwiek konwersji. Review & Unboxing: Malifaux Hamelin Warheim FS: Szczurołap

Although I'm not going to the Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament in March (here and here you can find reports from the previous ones), today I invite you to the review and unboxing of probably the best Rat-catcher miniature for this system - Malifaux Hamelin. It's more than a month to the tournament, so whoever has not yet made his own Cursed Rat-catcher, there is still a chance to make it in time =) The Hamelin set consists of the Rat-catcher himself, a dog, an additional rat and a large round base. There is also a colorful character card with his statistics and special rules. The miniature is made of metal and has just enough details. All of the elements match each other very well. Hamelin is not a very dynamic miniature, but his stance and details make him look just fine =) The Rat-catcher and his dog seem to occupy too much space to be "legally" played in Warheim FS, but by twisting his leash a little they can easily fit on a 20x20 mm base. I will try to paint Hamelin before the tournament (it's the only way for me to "participate" in this event), and I encourage you to put links to your Rat-catchers below =) My rating: 5/6 More photos below. Mimo że nie jadę na marcowy turniej Warheim Fantasy Skirmish (tutaj i tutaj znajdziecie relacje z poprzednich) zapraszam dzisiaj na recenzję i unboxing chyba najlepiej pasującej figurki Szczurołapa do tego systemu - Malifaux Hamelin. Do turnieju jeszcze ponad miesiąc, więc kto się jeszcze w Przeklętego Szczurołapa nie zaopatrzył, może z tego posta akurat skorzysta =) Zestaw  Hamelina składa się z samego Szczurołapa, pieska, dodatkowego szczurka i dużej okrągłej podstawki. Do tego dochodzi kolorowa karta postaci z jej statystykami i zasadami specjalnymi. Figurka jest metalowa z wystarczająco wyraźnymi detalami. Wszystkie elementy bardzo dobrze do siebie pasują. Hamelin to może niezbyt dynamiczna figurka, jednak jego poza i poszczególne detale sprawiają, że ma w sobie to "coś" =) Szczurołap i jego pies z pozoru zajmują za dużo miejsca, by mogły "legalnie" być wystawione w Warheim FS, jednak przy odrobinie przekręconej smyczy bez problemu mieszczą się na podstawce 20x20 mm. Postaram się pomalować Hamelina przed turniejem (chociaż tyle mogę zrobić w kwestii udziału w tym wydarzeniu), a Was zachęcam do wrzucania poniżej linków do Waszych Szczurołapów =) Moja ocena: 5/6 Więcej zdjęć poniżej. Review & Unboxing: Stormcast Eternals Gryph-Hounds

The beginning of the year is always hard for me when it comes to having enough time for the hobby, but I'm really trying to paint at least a little everyday, so I will soon post something better on the blog. Today I made a review and unboxing of really cool miniatures from GW =)  The Gryph-Hounds set for the Stormcast Eternals army consists of 6 miniatures in three different designs. They are made of plastic components and require assembly. The individual elements fit together quite well, but you will need to fill in small gaps in some places. As far as details are concerned, they are really decent and clear. Also, there are not too many of them, so painting Gryph-Hounds should not be hard.  The set includes colorful information about Gryph-Hounds rules in Age of Sigmar and suggested paints.  The miniatures are very dynamic, and in my opinion they look very "noble". In the last photo (for comparison purposes) I have posted quite a static Gryph-Hound from the Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower (companion of Excelsior Warpriest).  My rating: 5/6 More photos below.

Przełom roku u mnie zawsze ciężki jeśli chodzi o czas na hobby, ale coś tam jeszcze wieczorami dłubię, więc niedługo wrzucę na bloga coś bardziej konkretnego. Tym czasem zapraszam na recenzję i unboxing naprawdę fajnych figurek od GW =) Zestaw Gryph-Hounds do armii Stormcast Eternals składa się z 6 figurek w trzech wzorach. Gryfki są plastikowe i kilkuelementowe, więc wymagają złożenia. Poszczególne elementy dość dobrze do siebie pasują, ale w niektórych miejscach potrzeba będzie zaszpachlować drobne szpary. Jeśli chodzi o detale, to są one naprawdę przyzwoite i wyraźne. Nie jest ich też za wiele, więc malowanie Gryfków powinno być bardzo łatwe.  W zestawie znajduje się również kolorowa informacja o zasadach Gryfków w Age of Sigmar oraz sugerowane do ich malowania farby. Figurki są bardzo dynamiczne, a w mojej ocenie mają też w sobie pewną "dostojność", co bardzo pozytywnie wpływa na ich klimat. Na ostatnim zdjęciu w celach porównawczych zamieściłem zaś dość statycznego Gryfka z zestawu Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower (towarzysz Excelsior Warpriest).  Moja ocena: 5/6 Więcej zdjęć poniżej.

Review & Unboxing: Wood Elves Drycha / Sylvaneth Branchwraith Warheim: Drycha

There were some plastic and metal miniatures on the blog lately, so it's high time for some finecast =) While preparing for Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament in October I added another miniature for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad. She used to be the Dryad Drycha miniature before the destruction of the Old World, but since there is a new Drycha miniature now it is just a Branchwraith miniature in Age of Sigmar Sylvaneth army. The miniature is made of finecast, so I thought there will be some troubles with it, but I was very kindly surprised =) There is a base and 2 elements in the box that doesn't require too much work. All elements fit together perfectly and are of a very good quality. I didn't find any damages. The miniature is very dynamic and almost screams for some special attention as far as basing is concerned - I've started making a special base for her =) My rating: 6/6 More photos below:

Były plastiki, potem metale, więc najwyższy czas na coś z finecastu =) W ramach przygotowań do wrześniowego turnieju Warheim Fantasy Skirmish  przedstawiam Wam kolejny nabytek do mojej drużyny Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren. Przed destrukcją Starego Świata była to Driada Drycha, zaś w związku z nowym modelem Drychy w Age of Sigmar figurka ta to Konarozjawa do armii Sylvaneth Co prawda kiedyś zrobiłem już konwersję Konarozjawy, ale i tak postanowiłem mieć tę właściwą =) Figurka jest z finecastu, więc podejrzewałem, że będą z nią pewne problemy, ale o dziwo pozytywnie mnie zaskoczyła =) Zestaw składa się z podstawki i 2 elementów, które nie wymagają jakiejś specjalnej obróbki. Wszystkie elementy świetnie do siebie pasują. Detale są naprawdę świetne i nie znalazłem żadnych uszkodzeń. Figurka jest bardzo dynamiczna i aż prosi się o coś więcej niż tylko prostą podstawkę, a już jestem w trakcie tego dodatkowego działania =) Moja ocena: 6/6 Więcej zdjęć poniżej:

Review & Unboxing: Wood Elves Waywatcher Lord / Wanderers WaywatcherWarheim: Strażnik Ścieżek

The preparations  for Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament in October are advancing so I will show you another hero for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad - the Waywatcher. It used to be a Waywatcher Lord miniature before the destruction of the Old World and now it is just a Waywatcher miniature in Age of Sigmar Wanderers and Sylvaneth army. This time the miniature is made of metal. There is also a square base for him. There are 3 elements in the box that require some cut offs. All elements fit together very well and despite quite an old sculpture they are of a good quality. The miniature's position is very "scenic" and there is also a Spite there =) I don't think there is a need for any kind of conversion. My rating: 5/6 More photos below. Przygotowania do wrześniowego turnieju Warheim Fantasy Skirmish idą pełną parą, więc dzisiaj przedstawiam Wam kolejny nabytek do mojej drużyny Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren - postać bohatera - Strażnika Ścieżek. Przed destrukcją Starego Świata był to model Lorda Strażnika Ścieżek i również w Age of Sigmar figurka jest po prostu Strażnikiem Ścieżek (Waywatcher) do armii Wędrowców i Sylvaneth.  Tym razem figurka jest metalowa, z dołączoną kwadratową podstawką. Zestaw składa się z 3 elementów, które wymagają odcięcia nadmiarowego metalu.  Wszystkie elementy świetnie do siebie pasują. Mimo że to dość klasyczna już rzeźba, detale są wyraźne. Figurka ma bardzo "sceniczną" pozę i znalazło się tam też miejsce dla  duszka =) Myślę, że nie ma potrzeby na dokonywanie jakichkolwiek konwersji. Moja ocena: 5/6 Więcej zdjęć poniżej. Review & Unboxing: Wood Elves Araloth / Wandererers Nomad Prince Warheim: Wieczny Strażnik Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren

I've started preparations for Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament in October so I had to add another hero to my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad - the Eternal Guard. Araloth miniature, the Lord of Talsyn and personal Champion of Queen Ariel, fits my squad perfectly. It's also very important that despite the death of the Old World there is still a place for him in Age of Sigmar Wanderers and Sylvaneth army as the Nomad Prince. The miniature is made of plastic. There is also a round base for him. All elements fit together and are very sharp and of a very good quality. There is no scenic base inside, but the miniature's position is very "scenic". Therefore, I don't think there is a need for any kind of conversion. My rating: 5+/6 (I hope it will be even better after I painted him =)) More photos below. Rozpocząłem przygotowania do wrześniowego turnieju Warheim Fantasy Skirmish, więc czas najwyższy uzupełnić moją drużynę Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren o postać bohatera - Wiecznego Strażnika. Konkurencji nie było, bo figurka Araloth'a, Lorda Talsyn i osobistego Czempiona Królowej Ariel, pasuje perfekcyjnie. Co bardzo istotne, mimo destrukcji Starego Świata, w Age of Sigmar również znalazło się dla niego miejsce, jako Księcia Koczowników do armii Wędrowców i Sylvaneth.  Zestaw jest plastikowy i zawiera także okrągłą podstawkę. Wszystkie elementy świetnie do siebie pasują. Detale są wyraźne i bardzo dobrej jakości. W zestawie nie ma scenicznej podstawki, ale pozycja Księcia sama w sobie jest bardzo "sceniczna". Myślę, że nie ma potrzeby na dokonywanie jakichś konwersji. Moja ocena: 5+/6 (mam nadzieję, że nie zapeszę przed malowaniem =)) Więcej zdjęć poniżej. Review & Unboxing: Torches basing kit from HQResin

I bought Ravens, Lamps and this Torches basing kit from HQResin on Hussar 2016. Torches basing kit contains 6 resin Torches in 2 different designs. Torches were packed in a plastic pouch and they were put in individual sprues. There were no damages. I also didn't find any imperfections. Torches are amazingly well sculpted, with great attention to details which are clearly visible. They will be perfect for conversions and additions to 28mm+ scale miniatures and scenery. I plan to use them for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad in Warheim Fantay Skirmish. My rating 6/6 =)

Podczas Hussara 2016 kupiłem Kruki, Lampy oraz ten zestaw Torches basing kit od HQResin. Torches basing kit to zestaw zawierający 6 Pochodni odlanych z żywicy w 2 różnych wzorach.   Pochodnie zapakowane były w woreczek strunowy i każda została przyczepiona do osobnej wypraski.  Nie zauważyłem żadnych zniszczeń. Nie znalazłem również zauważalnych ubytków. Pochodnie są fantastycznie wyrzeźbione i mają bardzo szczegółowe i wyraźne detale. Na pewno sprawdzą się znakomicie do konwersji i waloryzacji figurek i scenerii w skali 28mm+.  Planuję wykorzystać je w mojej drużynie Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren do Warheim Fantasy Skirmish. Moja ocena 6/6=)

I bought not only Ravens on Hussar 2016 but also this Oil lamps basing kit from HQResin. Oil lamps basing kit contains 6 resin Lamps in 2 different designs. Lamps were packed in a plastic pouch but they weren't put in sprues. I was afraid that they might be broken, but fortunately there were no damages. I also didn't find any imperfections. Lamps are sculpted with great attention to details which are clearly visible. They will be perfect for conversions and additions to 28mm+ scale miniatures and scenery. I plan to use them for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad in Warheim Fantay Skirmish. My rating 6/6 =)

Na szczęście nie zauważyłem żadnych zniszczeń. Nie znalazłem również zauważalnych ubytków. Rzeźba lamp jest bardzo szczegółowa i wyraźna. Na pewno sprawdzą się znakomicie do konwersji i waloryzacji figurek i scenerii w skali 28mm+.  Planuję wykorzystać je w mojej drużynie Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren do Warheim Fantasy Skirmish. I saw this Ravens basing kit from HQResin on Hussar 2016 and quickly bought it. Ravens basing kit contains 6 resin Ravens in 3 different designs. Ravens are packed in a plastic pouch and put in small sprues. Fortunately they were not damaged. However there are a few not too visible imperfections. Ravens have a realy stunning and detailed sculpture. They will be perfect for conversions and additions to 28mm+ scale miniatures and scenery. I plan to use them for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad in Warheim Fantay Skirmish. My rating 6/6 =)

Podczas Hussara 2016 zestaw Ravens basing kit od HQResin zdecydowanie przykuł moją uwagę i po prostu musiałem go kupić. Ravens basing kit to zestaw zawierający 6 Kruków odlanych z żywicy w 3 różnych wzorach.   Kruki  zapakowane są w woreczek strunowy i przyczepione do mini wyprasek. Nie zauważyłem żadnych zniszczeń. Sam zestaw nie obył się jednak bez kilku mało zauważalnych ubytków. Kruki mają naprawdę doskonałą i bardzo szczegółową rzeźbę. Sprawdzą się zatem znakomicie do konwersji i waloryzacji figurek i scenerii w skali 28mm+.  Planuję wykorzystać je w mojej drużynie Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren do Warheim Fantasy Skirmish. Moja ocena 6/6=)

Review & Unboxing: Wood Elf Highborn with Great Weapon / Wandererers Waystrider Warheim FS: Szlachcic Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren

I'm preparing for Warheim Fantasy Skirmish tournament in January and that's why I had to add a hero to my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad - the Highborn. Choosing the right miniature wasn't hard because I wanted to buy it for quite a while. In my opinion, the Higborn Elf wielding Greatsword is one of the best miniatures ever produced by Games Workshop. Therefore it's no surprise that despite the death of the Old World there is still a place for him in Age of Sigmar Wanderers and Sylvaneth army as the Waystrider. The set consists of the character and a separate greatsword - everything in one sprue and in one small blister. There is also a 20x20 mm base inside. The Noble is made of finecast and he has some visible damaged elements. Fortunately the sword is straight but I managed to break it... He require much work with removing excessive finecast. The details are very clear and much better than those I once saw on the metal version. What is more, the Waystrider has a "built-in" scenic base with a spite so there is no reason to convert him. My rating (even though the Noble is made of failcast): 5/6, but we will see how my painting goes =) Edit: You can see the finished Highborn here and painting his NMM sword tutorial here.

Ponieważ przygotowuję się do styczniowego turnieju Warheim Fantasy Skirmish, musiałem uzupełnić moją drużynę Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren o postać bohatera - Szlachcica. Wybór reprezentującej go figurki mógł być tylko jeden, gdyż od bardzo dawna przymierzałem się do jej kupna. Szlachetnie urodzony Elf dzierżący dwuręczny miecz to moim zdaniem jedna z najlepszych figurek Games Workshopu. Nic więc dziwnego, że mimo destrukcji Starego Świata, w Age of Sigmar również znalazło się dla niego miejsce, jako Kroczącego Ścieżkami do armii Wędrowców i Sylvaneth.  Zestaw składa się z postaci i osobnego dwuręcznego miecza, a całość mieści się na jednej wyprasce w małym blisterze. W zestawie znajduje się także podstawka 20x20 mm. Szlachcic został wykonany z finecastu i niektóre z elementów posiadają widoczne uszkodzenia. Na szczęście miecz jest prosty, ale zdążył się przy obróbce ułamać... Nadlewki i łączenia wymagają sporo roboty. Detale są jednak wyraźne i znacznie lepsze niż na metalowej wersji, którą miałem kiedyś okazję mieć w dłoni. Dodatkowo, Waystrider ma "wbudowaną" sceniczną podstawkę, na której znajdziemy także leśne licho, więc nie ma potrzeby dokonywania na nim jakichkolwiek konwersji.  Moja ocena (pomimo failcastu): 5/6, ale zobaczymy jak mi się go będzie malowało =) Edycja: Pomalowanego Szlachcica możecie obejrzeć tutaj, a poradnik malowania jego NMM miecza tutaj.

Velleman VTLAMP6 desk working lamp

Hello everyone! I'm back after another long break. Since my last WiP post in January, I've bought some new miniatures, paints and books. But most importantly, I've reorganised my whole working space, fixed my camera and bought a new desk working lamp - Velleman VTLAMP6. Many thanks to ARBAL from Coloured Dust for recommending this lamp. Witam wszystkich! Wracam po kolejnej długiej przerwie. Od mojego ostatniego WiP postu w styczniu, kupiłem kilka nowych figurek, farb i książek. Ale co najważniejsze, zreorganizowałem swoje miejsce do pracy, naprawiłem aparat i kupiłem nową lampę biurkową - Velleman VTLAMP6. Wielkie dzięki dla ARBALA z Coloured Dust, za polecenie tej lampy.

You should have seen this coming in yesterday's post, so without further ado, it is time to announce my new Warhammer army project - the Wood Elves (edit: Sylvaneth and Wanderers). I know that the Asrai are not to competitive and their army book is quite old but I find the Wood Elves to be one of the most beautiful armies out there.  

Myślę, że można było to przewidzieć po wczorajszym poście, więc bez zbędnych ceregieli chciałbym przedstawić swój nowy armijny projekt w świecie Warhammera Fantasy - Leśne Elfy (edycja: Sylvaneth i Wanderers). Zdaję sobie sprawę, że Asrai nie są zbyt konkurencyjną armią, a ich kodeks jest dosyć stary, ale w mojej opinii Leśne Elfy są jedną z najpiękniejszych armii w ogóle! 

Today I got my hands on the Warhammer Wood Elves Battalion boxed set and I cannot wait to start assembling the units!  

Dzisiaj w moje ręce wpadł Batalion Leśnych Elfów i naprawdę nie mogę doczekac się składania jednostek! 

The Warhammer Wood Elves Battalion boxed set is a great way to start collecting the Asrai. It is a real bargain and gives you essential units for every army list. Inside, you will find 24 Glade Guard, 12 Dryads and 8 Glade Riders. While Glade Guard and Dryads are a must for a competetive Wood Elves army, Glade Riders in 8th edition were nerfed and are rarely seen on the board. Despite some gossips about the new army book, I would rather not use them as Glade Riders. Instead, it is a good idea to give them some Wild Riders conversions to give your army a hard hitting, fast cavalry unit.  

Zestaw Warhammer Batalion Leśnych Elfów to świetny sposób na rozpoczęcie zbierania Asrai. Jest naprawdę opłacalny i zapewnia niezbędne jednostki do każdej armijnej rozpiski. W środku znajdują się wypraski z 24 Strażnikami Polany, 12 Driadami i 8 Jeźdźcami Polany. O ile Strażnicy Polany i Driady to absolutna podstawa przy tworzeniu konkurencyjnej armii Leśnych Elfów, o tyle Jeźdźcy Polany w 8 edycji Warhammera zostali osłabieni i rzadko pojawiają się na stole do gry. Pomimo plotek na temat nowego kodeksu do Leśnych Elfów, raczej nie mam zamiaru używać ich, jako Jeźdźców Polany. Myślę, że dobrym pomysłem jest skonwertowanie ich do Dzikiego Gonu (Wy też nie lubicie tego tłumaczenia?), co da armii mocno uderzający oddział szybkiej jazdy. 

In the following days, I am going to work on the Dryads unit and hopefully show you the results very soon.  

W następnych dniach, będę zajmował się oddziałem Driad i mam nadzieję wkrótce podzielić się z Wami wynikami.
