Project: Plinth display base (burned) Figurkowy Karnawał Blogowy XLVIII - Grunt to dobrze zjeść!

For non polish visitors, I hasten to explain that Carnival of Blog's Minis is the initiative of polish miniatures bloggers. The idea is based on monthly challenges on various topics about miniatures etc. This month's theme is about eating.

Trwa XLVIII edycja Figurkowego Karnawału Blogowego, ogłoszona na łamach bloga Shoggoth's Place, zaś motywem przewodnim jest "Grunt to dobrze zjeść!".

For a few days I was wondering what to publish for this month's challenge. I didn't have any Tyranid at hand, so I thought I would just let go, but yesterday we were to have a bonfire together and I came up with an idea. If the best food is made on the fire, maybe I will also roast something? =) I took a wooden block (a future plinth which I will use very soon) and set it on fire. The idea wasn't mine, because I found it on the Massive Voodoo blog, but I was very curious about doing it on my own. I guess I had some difficulties due to the kind of wood I  have burned (it was very little susceptible to burning), but on the other hand, such a plinth would be much stronger later. Fortunately, the heat was enough to achieve the desired effect. All I had to do was to blow for a long time, controlling the burning effect. The final effect is not spectacular yet, but I think that when I finish the plinth it will look very unique, and that's just what it was all about =) When I finished burning my plinth I got really hungry, so many delicious sausages went to fire =) P.S. There will be a very big, old and previously unfinished project on the plinth (I'm slowly finishing it off) =) More photos below.

Od paru dni zastanawiałem się co opublikować w ramach FKB, a że żadnego Tyranida pod ręką nie miałem, to już myślałem, że odpuszczę. Dopiero, gdy wraz z rodziną postanowiliśmy zrobić ognisko, wpadłem na pewien pomysł. Skoro najlepsze jedzenie jest robione na ogniu to może i ja coś upiekę? =) Nie czekając na innych wziąłem drewniany klocek (przyszły piedestał / plint, który już niedługo bardzo mi się przyda) i go podpaliłem. Pomysł nie jest mój, gdyż znalazłem go na blogu Massive Voodoo, ale byłem bardzo ciekaw efektów.  Sądzę, że pewną trudność mógł stanowić rodzaj palonego drewna, gdyż mój był np. bardzo mało podatny na spalanie, ale z drugiej strony taki plint będzie później wytrzymalszy. Do osiągnięcia wymaganego efektu wystarczył jednak sam żar. Po jego uzyskaniu musiałem mocno i długo dmuchać, kontrolując końcowy efekt spalenia.  Finalny efekt nie jest jeszcze może powalający, ale myślę, że jak skończę obróbkę tego plinta to będzie wyglądał wyjątkowo, a o to przecież chodziło, co nie? =) Jak już skończyłem palenie piedestału zrobiłem się naprawdę głodny, a że grunt to dobrze zjeść, to na ogień poszły wyśmienite kiełbaski =)  P.S. Na plincie stanie bardzo duży, stary i dotąd niedokończony projekt, który powoli wykańczam =) Więcej zdjęć poniżej.

Exhibit: Wood Elves Araloth / AoS Wanderers Nomad Prince / Warheim FS: Wieczny Strażnik

I managed to maintain a good pace of painting so today I want to show you the last hero for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad - the Eternal Guard. Araloth miniature, the Lord of Talsyn and personal Champion of Queen Ariel, fits my squad perfectly. It's also very important that despite the death of the Old World there is still a place for him in Age of Sigmar Wanderers and Sylvaneth army as the Nomad Prince. The miniature is made of plastic and despite a few gaps between the elements, I just loved painting it! Initially, Araloth was to be completed on a lower level, but he seemed to demand special treatment and therefore painting him took me more time than I expected. Fortunately, I was only limited by the colours of the rest of my autumn Asrai =) I hope my effort has not gone to waste and that you will like this incarnation of the Nomad Prince =) P.S. Udało mi się utrzymać niezłe tempo malowania, więc zapraszam Was do obejrzenia Wiecznego Strażnika Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren - ostatniego bohatera do mojej drużyny Warheim Fantasy Skirmish. Przed destrukcją Starego Świata był to model Araloth'a, Lorda Talsyn i osobistego Czempiona Królowej Ariel, zaś w Age of Sigmar jest to Książe Koczowników (Nomad Prince) do armii Wędrowców i Sylvaneth.  Figurka jest plastikowa i mimo pewnych niedoróbek (kilka przerw między złożonymi elementami) malowało mi się ją wyśmienicie! Początkowo Araloth miał być ukończony na niższym poziomie, ale z Wiecznym Strażnikiem tak się po prostu nie dało. Każdy element Księcia Koczowników aż się prosił o specjalne potraktowanie i zabierał mi przez to więcej czasu niż zakładałem. Koniec końców ograniczyła mnie jedynie kolorystyka reszty moich jesiennych Asrai=) Mam nadzieję, że mój wysiłek nie poszedl na marne i to wcielenie Wiecznego Strażnika przypadnie Wam do gustu =) P.S. Exhibit: Wood Elves Waywatcher Lord / AoS Wanderers Waywatcher / Warheim FS: Strażnik Ścieżek

Today I want to show you a finished hero for my Athel Loren Wood Elves squad - the Waywatcher. It used to be a Waywatcher Lord miniature before the destruction of the Old World and now it is just a Waywatcher miniature in Age of Sigmar Wanderers and Sylvaneth army. The miniature is made of metal and unfortunately, it was quite hard to work with it. I guess I managed to hide all imperfections, but I feel a little unsatisfied (at least as far as my Wood Elves Highborn is concerned). Surprisingly, painting the Waywatcher was different than usual so regular TFH visitors will surely notice a little different color scheme. I hope you like him =) More photos of the Waywatcher below.

Dzisiaj zapraszam Was do obejrzenia skończonego bohatera - Strażnika Ścieżek Leśnych Elfów z Athel Loren do mojej drużyny Warheim Fantasy Skirmish. Przed destrukcją Starego Świata był to model Lorda Strażnika Ścieżek i również w Age of Sigmar figurka jest po prostu Strażnikiem Ścieżek do armii Wędrowców i Sylvaneth.  Figurka jest metalowa i niestety dość zdecydowanie opierała się obrabianiu. Myślę, że udało mi się odpowiednio zakryć wszystkie mankamenty rzeźby, ale w moim odczuciu i tak daleko jej do do np. mojego Szlachcica Leśnych Elfów.  Strażnika Ścieżek malowało mi się jakoś inaczej, więc stali bywalcy TFH pewnie zauważą delikatnie odmienną kolorystykę w stosunku do reszty moich jesiennych Asrai.
