Tutorial: Cherry Blossom Land #1 Poradnik: Kraj Kwitnącej Wiśni

Since you asked for some useful tips on making a Cherry Blossom Tree diorama I've decided to make a simple three-piece tutorial =) Click for the second and the third part. The base was made from a flat piece of wood and a piece of styrofoam cut with a knife. Podstawka została zrobiona z płaskiego kawałka drewna i kawałka styropianu przyciętego nożem.

Preparing the tree: Przygotowanie drzewa:

Prepare 3-4 wire pieces about 1-1.5mm thick and 10-25 cm long (the longer wire, the taller  tree). Przygotuj 3-4 kawałki drutu 1-1.5mm grubości i 10-25 cm długości (im dłuższy drut, tym wyższe drzewo). Take those wires in your hand and twist them together in the middle (this will form the trunk), leaving at least 2-3 cm untwisted at the bottom (your tree roots) and at least 1/3 at the top (bigger branches - the more wire you leave untwisted at the top, the more spread the tree will be). Weź te druty w dłoń i zagnij je razem na środku (by uformować pień drzewa), pozostawiając przynajmniej 2-3 cm niezagięte na dole (korzenie) i przynajmniej 1/3 na górze (większe gałęzie/konary - im więcej drutu zostawisz niezagiętego na górze, tym bardziej rozłożyste wyjdzie drzewo). Spread the bottom wires apart and bend the top ones to get a desired tree look. You can add more wire for more thickness. Rozłóż dolną cześć drutów osobno i zagnij górne, aż uzyskasz odpowiedni wygląd drzewa. Możesz dodać więcej drutu dla większej grubości. Position the tree wherever you see fit on the base, by inserting the roots through the styrofoam base. Usually there is no need to glue them, but if you feel they are not stable enough, use PVA glue. Ustaw drzewko w dowolnym miejscy na podstawce poprzez wciśnięcie drutów (korzeni) w styropian. Zazwyczaj nie potrzeba ich przyklejać, ale jeśli wydają Ci się mało stabilne, użyj kleju PVA. For the next step you will need a plastic container, PVA glue, water and a few pieces of paper towel (I used hygienic tissues, which I separated into layers). W następnym kroku będzie potrzebny plastikowy pojemnik, klej PVA, woda i kilka kawałków ręcznika papierowego (ja użyłem chusteczek higienicznych, które rozdzieliłem na warstwy).

Make a 1:3 mix of PVA glue to water. Zrób mieszaninę 1:3 kleju PVA i wody.

Take a piece of prepared paper, soak it in the above mix and cover the whole tree with it, starting at the base. Lay those pieces so they stick and completely cover the wire. You will have to repeat this step several times, until all the wire is covered, leaving only short pieces of wire visible at the ends of the branches. Use an old brush or an ice cream stick to shape the bark of the tree, while the paper is still wet. W niektórych miejscach będzie trzeba ten etap powtórzyć kilka razy, aż całe druty zostaną pokryte, pozostawiając jedynie króciutkie kawałki drutu widoczne na końcach gałęzi. Użyj starego pędzla lub patyczka do lodów, by kształtować korę drzewa, póki papier jest wciąż mokry.

Leave your tree to dry for several hours or just use a hairdryer on it but from the distance.  Zostaw drzewko do wyschnięcia na kilka godzin lub użyj na nim suszarki do włosów, ale z pewnej odległości.
